Providing the most advanced, medically appropriate treatments.
Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) – Through a tiny catheter, we use light energy to heat the inside walls of the varicose vein, which causes the vein to shut down. Over time, it is absorbed naturally into the body. Treatment typically lasts about 45 minutes, and most people experience little or no pain and can return to normal activity quickly… with little or no discomfort or downtime!
Sclerotherapy – This minimally invasive procedure for both spider and varicose veins involves using a tiny needle to inject a special solution into the problem vein. The solution causes the vein to collapse and be naturally absorbed over time by the body. The procedure takes about 30 minutes, and recovery time is minimal. The treated veins may be tender, but most people can resume normal activities almost immediately. We may also use ultrasound guidance to ensure the most precise treatment.
Ambulatory microphlebectomy – When necessary, our specialists can perform this minimally invasive surgical — actually, microsurgical — procedure with the skill trusted by Wilmington and its doctors for more than 50 years. Through tiny incisions requiring no stitches, we remove small sections of the vein, and you go back to work and light activity almost immediately.
Compression Therapy – Compression stockings are specialized hosiery that use compression to help reduce the effects of venous insufficiency and reflux. They can alleviate symptoms temporarily. Many insurance companies require that we try this treatment for 3 to 4 months before trying any of the above procedures.
